Beautiful poem that came from something that must have felt so sad for her. This not only seemed to capture being lonely but also the feeling that you really would have been there if you could.

Awe thats so sweet! I knew tuns of girls who go stood up this year for prom, and i can't even imagine what they must have felt all dolled up and no date. The worest part was when our stupid principal didn't let them in without a date. I'm glad she has an awesomef friend like you to look out for her. Awesome poem for a heartfelt awesome writter

A very nice dedication to your friend.
It really does suck getting stood up.
A close friend of mine was stood up at our prom, so I stuck with her for some of the night. Even danced with her. My date didn't mind. And I love her to death for that.

Such a sad beginning with a wonderfully loving twist to the end . Reminds me off my prom , my boyfriend and I broke up 1 week before and I had already spent alot of money on my dress which went unworn . Brought back memories of many , many years ago .18 years to be exact....lol

Thanks for the wonderful comments people. I do know her, she's a dear friend of mine. I'm in the service now and she moved to texas. I only wish she actually knew how badly I wish I could have been with her.
