Airy Exile

by Melanie   May 15, 2006

So you wade through...
And become versed to cast out the miscarried deficiency
Translucent and paper thin
You commit to memory all your imperfections

You fill your emptiness with bites never taken
You get by, day after day
Your drained and you've been tried
Still firmly standing on a sky-scraper of little white lies

You give away all your words, all your excuses,
Lighting up at the opportunity to avoid consumption
And through every possible speech
You can't explain it.

Your refusal is the fuel of the fire,
Your flame became a rage that can't be put out
You can't unfold the want. you can't diminish the need.
Because you are thriving on the very desire to not eat.

Refrain from the scene. Stand back, breathe deep. hold it in.
You know exactly how to not want.
Oddly, they are all jealous of the mess your knee-deep in.
They want what you have,
Merely because you deny yourself the essentials to live.

You feed upon the breath in your lungs,
There you are standing, your shadow fading from the sun...
