No One to Blame

by Empress Jai   May 15, 2006

You hugged her and
she held you with slack
Kissed her and
realized there was something it
lacked
Made love to her and
noticed she held back
Your confused, does she know?
That your love was always a lie, never a fact

You made her fall for you
just to get what you wanted.
You made her feel special
because it was her you flaunted.
But it was all a facade
a charade
She was just a pawn in your scheme
too bad it was her heart
her soul you taunted.

She looks happy
but you no longer see her eyes gleam
When your around
to you no longer does she cling
She's stepped back
giving you all your space
No longer is she all underneath you,
all in your face.

She's putting up a front
Giving you an act
Trying to do everything just the same
So you won't know she's fallen off your track
She's playing you for a fool with your own game
driving herself insane
Crying, screaming inside
Knowing she has no one else to blame...but herself

You go to work
I no longer call you
Your phone never beeps
When you get off
I will no longer wait up for you
You'll come to bed and
notice I'm already asleep
You remember the days
when my love was so deep
I wonder if things would be different if you hadn't began to creep.

You leave your phone
I read your text
I shake my head
What lie will you tell me next?
You're sleeping around
and then coming home to me.
Did you think I was stupid?
blind?
that I wouldn't see?

You touch me and
notice I pull back
You think you still got me
I advise you to rethink that
For some reason as long as you play this little game
I'll keep up my little act
One day I'll get tired, trust, and
You'll come home to find your things packed.

I'm putting up a front
Giving you an act
Wondering if I'll ever forgive you
Trying to cut you some slack
You've been playing this game for so long
I've decided to play back
So set this trophy on the shelf
Pull that jersey off the rack
This is driving me crazy
But I know...
For this pain...
I have no one to blame...
but myself.
