A Dream

by Liz   May 15, 2006

I had a dream one night
as I lay in silent slumber
of a man, a boy, and a green cucumber
It made no sense to me
and I thought I'd never see
What a lobster and a matchstick had in common
But as my dream progressed
I saw a girl who was well dressed
and a flock of geese
that were owned by her niece

And in this dream town
where no one boasts
And no one is afraid
of the harmless ghosts
I started to like this dream
where no one cries
and no one dies.
Nobody hates here
If only we lived more like
the random, fun people of this place
Then we could look our enemy in the face
And no lives would be lost ever again.

When my alarm went off that day,
I didn't want to wake up, I wanted to stay!
In my own perfect dream
Even if it lasted for only five more minutes
