I'm Not Perfect

by Bridie   Feb 14, 2004

I can taste it in your tears
The regret you hold for me
How you wanted someone perfect
Thinking you’d find it in me

Breathing deep inside
My pain will not escape
Your twisted words and lies
Turning my fibre into hate

How could I have known you
And the mask of your deceit
Turn the words back onto me
Giving up my belief

Nobody can be perfect
But I know you’d like to try
Life goes to quick for that
Passing in the wink of my eye

You eat the best of me and
Im done consuming my pain
And im passed the innocent days
Of skipping in the rain

I can taste it in your tears
The regret you hold for me
How you wanted someone perfect
Someone I couldn’t be
