The Cages of the Heart

by Elizabeth   May 15, 2006

Cant you see the pain Im going through?
Or is the burning agony in my eyes not enough to show.
You crush me to the ground like I mean nothing to you.
Your heart, as frigid as the newly fallen snow.

I sit and wonder about our time together,
The euphoric memories, I'll forever hold.
Our love was similar to the spring and winter,
One season, warm and peaceful, the other barren and cold.

You were once my sun, shining during the storm.
Your eyes, the blazing stars in the sky.
Your voice mended my soul, withered and torn.
That was when I called you mine.

Tis rather unfortunate, our love has gone to waste.
But my angel, in my heart, you will always have a place.
