Childhood Friends

Childhood Friends

When we were little
We went to the same school
We played on the same playground
Broke the same rules

We were the same
Because that's just how we were
Now that we are older
It's my turn to confer

I miss the way we'd race
I miss the smile on your face
I miss talking endlessly for recesses
I miss playing that old hopscotch game

I still remember jumprope
Wanna play mousetrap?
How about double dutch?
Sometimes we don't want to and call it c**p

I loved playing all these childish games
I just turned 13 and it isn't the same
I realize that I'm turning old
But I'll wait knowing truth be told

I pray we will meet again
Goodbye, my childhood friends...
