Every Single Day

by Melanie   May 16, 2006

I miss the days when we didn't care,
the summer was freedom and life was fair
Laughter was the only thing we exchanged
and we made our vows to always stay the same

And I wonder where you are now,
The room is full of steam and I'm amazed
that through the fog I stumbled back upon your face
It feels like its been a lifetime since we've been together,
is this fate I'm feeling inside, or is it just anger?
You should know you stole all my light when you went away,
you should know I thought about you every single day

Was it just a beautiful lie you told me?
Would knowing I cried myself to sleep every night make you believe,
that it's love and it's all we've got to take when we leave
When we're grey and old its supposed to still be you and me

And I wonder who you love now,
will you share the same sweet pillow talk with her,
and spoil all the words I used to hear
It feels like its been a lifetime since we've been together,
is this fate I'm feeling inside, or is it just anger?
You should know you stole all my light when you went away,
you should know I thought about you every single day
