Our perfect eyes

by Elynnka   May 16, 2006

I could see the world in your eyes,
Everything that’s out there - all that’s born and all that dies.
Beyond your black eyelashes lays a world unseen,
A world wrapped within hope – a world of which I dream.

I could see my true reflection in your eyes,
For you’re the only one that can see beyond these lies.
Deep within the shades of green and blue
I can see all of me and all of you…

You could see the world in my eyes,
Everything that’s hidden – all that lived and all that dies.
Beyond my red eyelashes lays a world unknown,
A world covered by this veil – a world that will not be shown.

You could see your “other” reflection in my eyes,
For I’m the only one that can see beyond the mask behind it hides.
Deep within the shades of brown and black
You can see all of me and your eyes staring back…

Very well-done. I didn't quite understand RED eyelashes, but it was nice how you could see so much in each other. Though a bit confusing I liked it. Your second line in the last stanza was a bit off. But other than that. Nice job!
