She stayed awake until 1:00am
waiting to hear her cell phone ring
he told her he would call
but he never meant a thing

that's when she said to herself
why don't you just fall asleep
he's not gonna call you
he ran away when things got too deep

he doesn't care about you anymore
and maybe he never even did
but he just let you fall in love with him
you showed him feelings you usually hid

you trusted him with everything
you gave him what was left of your heart
but still it wasn't enough
and he just let you fall apart

she tried to tell herself
everything would be alright
she didn't need him if he didn't need her
and holding on isn't worth the fight

but she couldn't make herself believe it
she couldn't get him out of her head
she felt so used and naive
believing every word he said

she should've listened to her friends
they said he'd break her heart in the end
and where was she now
left with a broken heart that would never mend

he made her feel like such a fool
now she can't sleep at night
tries to tell herself just go to bed
