Dying For A Rose

She looks in the mirror
Clutching her cold knife
Tears falling uncontrollably
She's ready to take her life

Never before has she been loved
The emotion had never been shown
Until one day he said it
He told her over the phone

He couldn't live without her
She had to be his
He was longing for her touch
He wanted to taste her kiss

The promise was made
His love would never die
He promised to be around forever
He promised never to make her cry

She's crying now
His promise was shattered
Her heart broken
Her emotions are battered

He said he'd come for her
When she would not know
He promised a gift of love
The gift of a red rose

He never came
He had found someone new
She was no longer his true love
He didn't give a hint, not a clue

The day he crossed her
The day her future became her past
Would be the beginning of the end
This day would be her last

Blood spills to the floor
Her body now froze
An innocent life was taken
All because of a red rose
