At least, For once

by Yukimi   May 16, 2006

I try to be,
The best I can be,
So that maybe you're happy.
Will you be free?
At least, for once.

Everytime I try to help,
You slap my hand away.
My palm still stings,
My eyes aren't dry,
Will you let me love you?
At least, for once.

Once you said that I was beautiful,
Then turned and said,
I remind you of a pig.
Will you stay true to your word?
At least, for once.

You've yelled at me,
Told me truths and then lies.
Will you stay honest?
AT least, for once.

The mask has come off,
Has been ripped into shreds.
I now see the real you,
Will you open your eyes?

I've taken your hand,
Led you through darkness and despair,
Will you be free?
At least, for once.

You see sunlight now,
Come and rest with me,
The chains no longer hold you back...
At least... for once..
