My Mask

by Genna   May 17, 2006

My mask is my identity
you may not see its there
underneath I'm a different person
although you probably don't care

i walk the days of sunlight
though i only see the shade
if you looked into my smile
you would start to see it fade

the slashes across my wrists
can be seen in the light of the moon
i try to bandage them up
but they'll be fresh again soon

the mask stays on forever
for even when i die
no-one really knows me
and this end i fear, is nigh

please comment, i would love some feedback!! xx

Wow, that poem really creates pictures in the mind. It's so sad but it's so good! Keep it up!
