You stand there, with your school bay over one shoulder
your long grey socks pulled up high
swaying your weight from leg to leg
laughing with you friends like a gaggle of geese
eyes dart over, then you glance away again. A faint smile is hidden as you run your hands through your hair.
chuckling to yourself, you go to board the bus,
your shirt un-tucked.
if only you didn't board,
you'd come running to me like an eager puppy
instead you loll around lazily, waiting for the doors to open.
they open, you enter, gone forever.
the air doesn't smell so sweet, the sky dims.
the bus, a kidnapper had stolen you again.
but behold, you escape and come running.
as you kiss me,
the faint yellow sun glows bright.
