“ I got called outâ€
He said with all his might.
“Tomorrow will defiantly be the beginning
Of a new fightâ€
She ran to him
And Cried “NO DADDY
DADDY DADDY PLEASE
PLEASE DON’T GOâ€
He held his breath
and took a hold of her
And his wife, and holded them
In till morning light
The horn honked
He kissed them good bye
He told his daughter
“be strong for your motherâ€
He left that day
To protect them and the U.S.A.
Since September 11 his life
Was never the same
It was two years now
His daughter is 5 years old
His wife was probably home all alone
When he walked on that plane to go home
Suddenly he was down
What the hell did he do
He served his time
That was his due
Time starts to flash back
When he lived in a shack
When his baby girl was born
And shown to the world
The way she laughed
The tears she cried
The laughs they made
The time going right on by
When he left
And she begged him not to leave
The tears he kissed
Everyday of his walking
His wife so venerable
Yet holding on strong
Praying her brave solider
Will come home with no harm
His life on death row now
Thinking about his family
This is not the way he planed it
He wanted to see his child on last time
He started to cry
Missing her
Words repeating over and over again
“Daddy, Miss you, Love you, hold me, daddyâ€
“he’s dead, lost of blood,
Put him in a body bag
Don’t put mud on that, stupid boy.
Body Bag I saidâ€
The bag Zipped up
A note was sent
To say her brave father
Was now dead
The little girl stood there confused
Mother crying, what else could she do
He was on the way home
To show them love and care
Now he is gone
Everything they wished for
Did disappear
He was still there
Their guardian angel
His dreams came true
He flew to see them
And they still cared
He saw his little girl
And watched her grow up
Watched her have children
And get married to her husband
He watched his wife get married
And saw his grand kids grow up
Than it was time to go
He kissed them good bye
And started off for heaven
When his daughter whispered
“Thanks for never breaking your promise.
Your promise when I was three
When you said you’ll never leave me
I’ll see you in heaven daddy
And I’m expecting lots of hugs and kissesâ€
