On February 25, 1984 you had my brother
On May 31, 1985 you gave birth to me
We thank you for being a beautiful mother
And for bringing in this world, me and Steve
You showed us so many things to learn
How to tie a shoe, to reading and much more
Never gave up on me in Colombia, when I got burned
By my side you stayed positive and prayed to the lord
I remember when we were small going to school
You always got hard on us to do our assignments
Saying education is one of life’s important rules
That one push made us become high school graduates
When we were feeling sad, sick, or depressed
You hold us tight, and took away all the pain
Only happiness was left, and down went the stress
All your hugs, kisses, and words took us out the rain
Mother, you understood us in our ups and downs
Your words inspired us in life, to stay strong
No matter the time or day you were always around
We can always look up to you when things go wrong
As I reminisce the days we made a mistake
From breaking a plate to failing a class
You never got mad but said it was ok
Saying “there’s another day, leave it in the pastâ€
When I was sad from a broken up relationship
I broke down crying, and there you were
Lending me your shoulder when I needed it
“Don’t cry my son†you said as my tears poured
Forgive us mother for answering you bad at times
When you said “no†to us, it was for a good reason
We would get mad but you would still decline
You were just doing your job each and every season
At some points we would need money at times
You never let a day pass when we needed your help
You gave us everything even if we needed a dime
Being sick you did everything so we can be in good health
Even though we don’t have the fanciest things in life
You gave us all your heart and all your love
We don’t need the materialistic things but you and Christ
By you being alive that’s the best gift from the man above
When you need something let us know, don’t be shy
Always we will be here no matter the time and day
We will be here for you until death closes down our eyes
Thank you god for our beautiful mother each day I pray
If you only knew what we would do for you
You’re everything to us, our shinning star
The best thing we can ever have without a clue
