Shinjuku.

by Steven Beesley   May 19, 2006

Shinjuku:

The hustle and bustle of
two million commuters a day.
Shinjuku, the busiest of all of
Tokyo\'s twenty three wards.

Home of numerous Godzilla sized
shops and malls that truly dazzle
and amaze, the pace here, swift and
fast that will put you in a daze.

Yet not far from this shopping
center paradise is also the
seedy side of town, Kubuki-cho not
known for shopping but for it's red lights.

Many will frequent the pachinko parlors,
spending hours in front of rows
and rows of pinball machines.
This is the national madness and pastime.

Visit nearby Shinjuku Gyoen to view
the beautiful cherry blossom bloom in spring.
Once a garden serving only the
imperial family, now to all.

No matter what your agenda may
be, if you're in Tokyo and have
never been to Shinjuku; then you
may as well have stayed right at home.

Just like Luanne... I googled Shinjuku!! I found some very nice pics and wow what a place! Your poem has clearly identified the high points of Shinjuku. Sounds a little like Central London. A crazy place filled with thousands of people all trying to get round each other. Nice work!
