Come To Me

by Chris Grogan   May 19, 2006

Where are you now that I am free?
The one I so desperately need to see?
You come to me late at night,
After you've bedded down, turned out the light.
Our paths have yet to cross in waking moments
When they do, that will be the moment of truth, ladies and gents.
Will I blow it and drive you away?
Or will everything come out beautifully, so that you will stay?
Will you be the life long love of my dreams?
Or will you follow the rest of my lifes themes?
Will you rip my heart from my chest,
Following the pattern of all the rest?
Or will you snuggle, cuddle, and tell me that you love me?
I suppose that well just have to see.
I love you and miss you so,
Despite that I have yet to meet you though.
My dream lover who waits for me in spirit.
I hope to meet you soon so that I may no longer fear it.
Our future together could be disastrous,
But then again, I could be miraculous.
Come to me soon so that we may try,
To forge ahead underneath our blue sky.
Our love, tempered by trial of fire,
Glowing bright as a funeral pyre.
I already know the pain you have seen.
I already know how people can be so mean.
Come to me so we may begin anew,
Come to me so that I may start with you,
Come to me so that I may be whole,
Come to me my mate of the soul.
