What You See

by Rhi   May 20, 2006

Sometimes I wonder
What it is you see
When you look in the mirror

Non-existant fat
Frizzy spiral curls
Concave breasts
Two-sizes too big hips

I wish that somehow
I could make you see
What it is that I see

Perfectly flat stomach
Tiny Barbie doll waist
Muscular strong legs
And the most beautiful soul

Just another young girl
Listening to the tabloids
Hating her looks
Hiding from the truth

I hope one day
You will be free
From this deadly society
And see the inside that hides

For it is the inside that matters
Not the outside

Dedicated to my best friend Bret: One day you will see yourself the way I see you. You may think your outside is any but beautiful, but your inside is perfect!
