Lost Without You

by Sarah Ann   May 20, 2006

My eyes became so watery
Blood shot, sorrowful and lonely
It's hard now, please come hold me
Even for a moment, boy one only

I promised you I wasn't staying
My own soul I was betraying
Yet now every night I'm praying
That my heart will stop delaying

Cause I lay down and all I do is cry
Hurt myself and then wonder why
These things I do and I don't try
Yet each word I speak is a true lie

I want to leave this wrong for right
But sinfulness holds a strong fight
And in my soul something ignites
For you to be near me tonight

So here it is with no further delay:
Without the proper words to say
I know for this that I should pay
But I want you back here anyway

The words I speak: they're real, they're true
How it would hurt this bad, I never knew
Though all your fault, I'm sorry too
I'm extremely lost here without you

This is an awfully sad poem. It took effort not to cry reading this. Any poem that can effect my emotions is good. Well done.
