Our First Time Part 1

by gasping for air   May 20, 2006

My palms sweat,
Heart raced,
And I could feel my knees shake,
As I stood at that gate,
Waiting for him to step off that plane.
I was nervous,
I was scared,
But above all anxious to see his face.
Before I knew it,
There were people all around me,
I looked for you,
But felt my heart drop into my stomach,
When you didn't appear.
I fell into the closest seat,
My elbows on my knees,
Head in my hands,
Trying to keep myself from crying.
I had been waiting for months for this,
I cursed myself for getting my hopes up,
And a tear fell from my eye,
But before I could cry anymore,
I felt a hand on my shoulder.
Lifting my head I was shocked,
There he was,
Standing there with a bag over his shoulder,
With one hand on my shoulder.
Excited beyond belief,
I jumped out of my seat,
Threw my arms around his neck,
And pulled him into a hug.
With a smile on his face,
He dropped his bag,
And wrapped his arms around me tight.
There we stood,
I couldn't believe he was actually there,
This moment I had waited so long for,
Had finally happened,
I wasn't going to let it just slip by.
Amuzed he chuckled,
And whispered in my ear,
"Baby, I'm not going anywhere."
Blushing, I let go of him,
And he took a step back and looked me over,
I blushed harder,
He laughed and promised me I had nothing to worry about.
I smiled up at him as he put an arm around my waist.
Once we were finally in the car,
He looked over at me with a smile,
And asked,
"Where to next?"
"I rented a hotel room,
So I figured we could go get you settled,
And then have some lunch."
He nodded in silence,
And I found my way to the hotel,
Asking him questions about his flight.
His answers were short,
There was tension in the air,
Eventually we let the conversation drop,
And I felt my palms begin to sweat,
Yet again.
It seemed like ages,
Before I pulled into the parking lot,
And we got his bags up to the hotel room.
I held out his room key,
He took my arms in his hand,
To pull me closer,
Chest to chest,
Looked down at me,
Ran a hand through my hair,
And whispered "God, you look beautiful."
I smiled,
And blushed,
"Do you want me to help unpack..."
Slowly, gently,
He put a finger to my lips,
Shook his head and dipped down for a kiss.
I had tried to imagine,
What his kiss would be like,
The taste,
The smell,
The feel,
But everything I ever dreamed couldn't compare.
It was soft but strong,
Sweet but bitter,
Passionate but lustful,
His kiss was like nothing I had had before.
