On your Deathbed

When you stop and stand there
at the joining of the two roads,
think back upon your history
and the path that you have taken

When you are on your death bed,
what will run through your mind?
will you fear the unknown world
or rejoice the coming journey?

has your life rested upon one
disaster after painful another?
has misconception tore you
from the beings that surround you?

Or have you looked on the length of life
and chosen pathways filled with joy,
with pain, yet always worth the trip.
have you helped mankind, or helped destroy it?

now as you look on darkness, the light fading
remember what you are worth and choose
whether or not to fear the coming journey
and the rest of all eternity
