Unchained Melody

by PS   May 20, 2006

Sleep in my soft bed
i awake to the melody
unchained, unfettered
by the news of the world

safe and naive that music
calls to mind natures
calmest singing sounds
free from all corruption

the twinkling of the stars
the babbling of the brook
the shimmering singing rays
from both the sun and moon

the music is yet free sang
by the driads of the trees
away from the violence
that tears the world asunder

I agree with Sluvy, you did this song justice. This was a great poem, and I enjoyed it, especially the last stanza.
