The Road

by alarian   May 20, 2006

When the ten-thousandth person
got his driving licence in April
the government took the decision
to raise new taxes to built a 4-lane motorway

finally every family owned a car
from Monday to Sunday after the mass
the kids, the dogs and the mothers-in-laws
got cramped on the same roads

no way to turn left or right
to speed up or stop for a piss
my father's face staring in the sun,I know
our lives have less freedom than our cars
