Immigrants are us

by Steph   May 21, 2006

The new immigrants, the fobs who migrate
Their relatives they try to locate
The people from China, Hong
Kong, Kuwait
We stare as if they were a primate
My quesetion is, why the sudden hate
they come for a better life, a clean slate
but we simply judge, not try to relate
they're running from famine, war or simply fate
language, customs, unknown yet life they try to create
They try and learn, they don't mean to frustrate
Don't get angry, instead try and help them translate
People think they'll simply raise the birthrate
or "steal" all the best real estate
That Asian girl, your new classmate
You don't know her, yet you still hate
You find out that at soccer she's great
guess what, she replaced your best friend as a teammate
instead of kindness, you try to humiliate
you make fun of her accent, her clothes, you got her stalemate
Remember it's not her fault, she didn't choose this fate
It's like hating someone who isn't straight
If you don't mind, let me take this time to restate
The importance of not judging that new classmate
And remember to always love and never hate

Not sure if it's any goond, just felt like it had to be written. Please vote and comment- will return the favour thanks:)
