I saw the sky where fat droplets fell
I saw the conflagration burn like hell
I saw the ashes that swept away
I saw the tears that kept me at bay
I saw the lush green turn char black
I saw the fiery ember trek
I saw the people scream in disdain
I saw their pleas unanswered in vain
I saw the wooden huts all melted down
I saw the headman's expression frown
I saw the eruption explode with a roar of might
I saw the heavens parted with a beam of light
I saw of mothers crying their hearts out
I saw of lost children wandering about
I saw of chaos widespread with sly
I saw a little boy whimper before closing his eye
I saw fizzling as the oceans and molten met
I saw unholy clouds form from where I sat
I saw gushing of waters like freshly brewed ale
I saw terrified villagers running - grief-strikingly pale
I saw the earth shatter and crumbled around
I saw the fissures cracked with an awful sound
I saw the ground swallow an unfortunate man
I saw the flailing of many desperate, outreached hands
I saw the the rain pelted down like hailstones instead
I saw the wind pick up speed - a hurricane was made
I saw the tides form and crashed unto the shore
I saw till my eyes hurt and I could take no more
I grimaced till I wept
I tire so until I slept
I opened my eyes
And there was more
I saw the rising sun peek between the clouds
I saw a ravaged land only scarred from burns
I saw the migration of Pacific trouts
I saw the tiny spores of tropical ferns
I saw the survivors picked up the remnants of their lives
I saw some happy reunifying of husbands and wives
I saw the local carpenter pick up his surviving tools
I saw him preparing his craft while sitting on a stool
I saw of things slowly returning as before
I saw the resigned contention - nothing more
I saw faces coming together from their strife
I saw a beginning and in that beginning I saw life
