I need a man

by Joe Moore   May 21, 2006

Tired of waiting
the shits Frustrating
Why I have slow my role

I need money
Broke ain't funny
this crap is taking a toll

An education
Or skilled vocation
Helps with the job choice

but I need to see
what it is to be free
so my children hear my voice

I want success
An nothing less
By any means necessary

So my soul I give
That my kids may live
A future better than our history

It's just a few
Deciding for me and you
How they want us to think

So they built a trap
Turned us into rats
fed us what to eat and drink

now the Guinea pig
smoke crack and cigs
dumber than chewing gum

no industry or trade
no allies we've made
just black rats turned hoodlum

black on black death
till fewer and fewer left
and even more lie in the jails

ain't no life and liberty
just hell and misery
we're losing 85% of our males

whether it's jail or it's drugs
homosexual or thug
black men shrinking in numbers

black women can't decide
job security or genocide
neithers a joy to be under

we have to understand
we need our own land
where universal law stands supreme

not in this mess
where we treated as less
but where we supply our own needs

we're not rappers
thugs or stripppers
not ignorant bastards or infidels

we're not smitten with
where we're living
ghetto housing or jail cells

our value has been
stripped down to paperthin
they will never see us as equal

from indentured slavery
to new world poverty
death is next in the sequal

take a look around
how can you not frown
at the condition we've endured

it's time to change
can't remain the same
if we ever want to be cured
