The White Carnation

by Jamie Ghione   May 21, 2006

The white carnation
was like a tiny, fluffy cloud
I could hold in my hand
I then felt like
I was floating on a cloud
as I held the white carnation.
I kept the carnation until
it began to fade away.
Day by day, it continued
fading from the
fluffy little cloud
it had once been.
Eventually the little cloud
floated away in my hand.
