Lost Words

by Nikki   May 22, 2006

One tear streaming down my face,
as I remember the day you passed away.
I fell in a chair,
and just clasped my face,
as I heard the news that treturous day.
I never said good-bye,
"I love you grandpa" is all I could say.Streaming tears now come,
as I am told you passed.
You were holding on to hear from me,
and I know you would of said you loved me too,
if only you could.
All I heard was your hard-breathing breath,
as I said those four words.
There was so much to say,
why couldn't I be with you that day?
I have many regrets,
but I still love you.
I've been able to get on with my life,
but I still have my days of emotional distress.
I'm depressed,
but I'll be fine.
I would be able to accept things better,
if I would have called or wrote,
but I chose not to.
I'm sorry.
So many conversations I never attempted on.
Words lost in the loud reminisce of my silence.
