Pentavenus

by David Zurick   May 22, 2006

I once saw Venus in the sky,
Fumes and heat met my eyes.
They blazed like a fire,
The fire reached for the stars,
My view of things burned further beyond the pentavenus-
Sharpening the corners of it's realm.

And you threw me away,
like the others-
Over the lines that separates us all.
Nothing would burn with me.
Nothing is what I landed upon,
And nothing is what I have become.
Indeed, I'm sure I could bring myself aflame, again.
My eyes would be the sun, the sun would be my star.
Venus would be my bride.
You would be the nothing that holds my pentavenus.
