Turn the Seasons Forward

by Nick   May 22, 2006

Anxiously anticipating
A sprout of life anew
To extract my roots from impounded dirt
Petals no more askew.
The breeze taketh my neighbors,
Planting them in fertile fields.
But the insects crawl through the dust,
Spoiling all treasures I may yield.
This fertile field of fragrant flowers,
With safety from insects that consume,
Nurtures my nectar, sweetens my scent,
Perfects my petals so they may bloom.
But anchored down within this dirt,
I strain for light of sun.
Eagerly anticipating.
New life will have soon begun.
