This poem was...great. As i read it i could see all of this happening in my head... its really sad... the emotions go deep in this poem and i can actually feel it as a i read... your an awesome writer... keep it up :) -jen-

A true tribute poem, it's so sad but true and heart warming in a way that they died for their country. The last line hit me, very sentimental note to finish on.
I must admit in places I became lost. One minute you were writing from the soldier's point of view and then his parents, and the transaction from one to the other isn't all that clear, and left me confused.
Good write anyway, very touching, and slightly eerie with the descriptions.

This is a beautiful poem. I think it's good that you are telling a story that might help or support people that went through something similar, losing someone because of war, honor and their country.

Fantastic description and imegry in this, the content is fantastically clear. i esspessially like the final stanza it finishes off the peice very well. the plot was told so clearly that the reader almost expiriances what the character does, brilliantly written.

I think you should reformat the lines that start on one line and end on the next. One minute he was alive and the next dead so maybe show how he might have felt in his last moments of life or go more into details about how his parents were feeling. I think you could easily just think about the right words to describe this without making this poem longer than it is. Some things to think about were the questions about and also: How would you react if you were the parent or the child in the war? If you can write form their point of view you just might be able to make this more touching than it already is. But either way it is a nice poem. Just some htings to think about.

As his son is layed to rest, his tear falling onto the ground.
The beautiful casket, being covered in cold damp earth.
As the rain starts coming down in steady streams.

I liked the poem, I thought it did a pretty good job of describing the emotions of the people involved without stating things too explicitly.
