Thank You

by Heather   May 23, 2006

Two important words I have to say
but in those two is awhole lot more.
So let me begin by saying
Why these things I will pour,
out of my heart and into your lap:
You made me laugh til it hurt,
You let me cry all my tears.
We did everything the same.
But Marines, Hawaii, street-bikes and smileys
were some of our favorite things.
We wasted countless hours on the phone.
talking of boys, school, camp and the fun it brings.
All the ways you changed my life
through the many lessons you taught to me.
I never dreamed so big
or noticed how bright the stars could be.
You had a smile for my frowning face,
You taught me to look on the bright side.
And for that I couldn't repay you.
My gratitude I can never hide.
In one way I could maybe let you know
Just what you mean to me.
These next few lines, I hope,
will make you begin to see:
I'll climb a thousand mountains,
I'll sail a thousand seas.
I'll walk a thousand beaches,
I'll cut a thousand trees.
I'll guard you from a thousand dogs,
I'll stand in a thousand storms.
I'll drive a thousand miles,
I'll send a thousand forms.
I'll do anything to be there
because you've been there for me.
If my last words on earth were to you,
"Thank you" is what they would be.

To my best friend, Kim. I love you lots,:)
