Confined Inside

by JL   May 23, 2006

Trapped inside the cold stone walls
Where no one else can find me
Trapped inside my frozen mind
No one will ever see

Locked away in my little dungeon
Hidden from all the hate and anger
Locked away in a barren prison
No one will ever cause a stir

Chained to my permanent sanctuary
Cold metal glides across my skin
Chained to memories terrible and haunting
I fear no one will save the girl within

Confined to all lies, misery and doubt
Searching for truth I've never known
Confined to the past I cannot put behind me
Looking for love I've never been shown

Frozen to the spot I last saw you
Wishing I could see you once again
Frozen to the bruises, the cutting and the tears
Wanting but I know I never can

This has to be one of my favorites you've written that I've read. Especially this stanza:

    "Chained to my permanent sanctuary
Cold metal glides across my skin
Chained to memories terrible and haunting
I fear no one will save the girl within"

It's amazing never quit writing you have a lot of talent.

Hmm, this poem reveals a feeling of loneliness. It also has a hidden message of 'secrets'. Like you are hiding something, and it is why you are lonely. A very powerful poem. Great write.
