He Is A Soldier And A Dad

by Jen Schroedle   May 23, 2006

I remember your him so well
Every day in the park
And chasing away the monsters
When the room would get dark
Every kiss before bed and
Good morning when I wake
There never seemed anything bad
And seemed nothing to hate
Now I stand on this hill
Daddy when will you come home
I know me and mom really need you
We're tired of being alone
I know you are fighting and tired
The new monsters somewhere
You are standing up for the country
There are so many out there
I am trying to be true
And I am trying to be brave
But I cry at night when I hear news
Waiting for them to say your name
Or will we get that letter
Even have to wait for it all
I know not only do we need you
America rang and you took the call
Please come home soon.
