In The Middle

In The Middle

A frightened misconception towards everyone's eyes
Darkness closing in, so scared she starts to cry
A disaster upon life, that's what she is called
A journey of her own where she stumbles and falls
In front of her path is a giant, golden scale
One word on each side, each thought prevails
Two paths she must choose from, life or death
She weighs her heart and inhales a quiet breath
The scale tips over, rattles and shakes
Trying with her might, enduring all she can take
Falling into the middle of her own soul's earthquake
