Rose

I give you, a bouquet of roses, with a note tied on,
It says "as long as they live, my love will never be gone"
Then you turn to me, and say "they last just a week!"
I say, "wait and you'll see" as I lay a kiss upon your cheek.

Months continue, just one rose alive after all this time,
You say "how can this be? Is this some kind of crime?"
With a puzzled look upon you sweet and gentle face,
I say, "can't you see, the last one will never need to replace.

It is plastic, darling baby, how could you not see that?
Did you think love would last just a week, and then go back?
It will never ever die, just like my love for you, I swear on this,
You are all I need in this world, you keep me in pure bliss!"

He turns to me and says, "This rose will be our love flame,
Flames go out in the wind, but this rose says my love will be the same.
Don't worry, I'll be fine, with you forever more,
I swear on this, forever you I'll adore."
