There but not there

A deep but
Dazzling darkness, surrounds me
And I feel as if I've been shut
Off from the light but all around me
I can still feel it
There but not there
It cradles me as I bask in it
The darkness has done more
Than it's share
To try to pull me away
But to be parted from the light
Is more than I can bear
Slowly but surely I continue on
My path, going back the same way
I came
Back through the dark
But I don't fear, because my aim
Is true. For I will embark
And make my way
Back to my place
Turned away
From the darkness,
With the light shining on my face.
