I remember the night
You tried to fight
You pulled me tight
Just for me to see the fright

You took the chair and threw it down
You took the bottle and dropped it to the ground

You went to the kitchen
Just to get more
You came back
And walked out the door

The night was going on
The tears kept pouring down
The fear in your eyes

You came back in and got the keys
You pushed her aside while she screamed
You slammed the door and took control
You held her tight with all your might

You came to my room
And looked at me
You saw the fear in my eyes
And all you did was say good bye

You walked out the house
Got in your truck, and lost control
The brakes didn't work
The lights were off

You hit the mailbox
You heard the boom
You spun your tires
And lost control

You sat outside to only realize
You hurt us all including mom
You forgot about the family
You forgot about the love.

You came inside
Drank some more
You finally passed out
While sitting by the door
