In The Darkness I Wait

In the darkness,
I wait.
I can see less and less,
You took the bait.

Searing pain silences me,
I bite my lip,
The blood, I cannot see,
Trickles down, taking a little dip.

I see you looming over my face,
And my fear consumes my being.
Suddenly I run and you give chase,
I escape, and continue running.

I want to be freed of my memories,
Of the times that we once had.
Now I cannot afford those luxuries,
So I shall go ahead.
