Just Listen

I have something important to ask of you
Please just listen-not say or do
I am not seeking your personal advice
If you could just listen, that would be nice
When you tell me how I should feel, it stings
It is like you are trampling on my feelings
Advice is cheap, I am asking you to hear me
Do not interrupt, disagree or even agree
Accept my words and the way that I feel
I already know what I say and feel are real
I want someone to listen whom I can trust
Someone patient, understanding and just
So please just listen and hear me true
When I'm done, I'll do the same for you
