Have i stopped forever

Y'all should be proud
I have finally put the knife down
After years of trying
I think i have finally come around

Things are hard
But that is no excuse to slit my arm
I will over come my fears
And realize all i did was cause harm

The scars will remind me
Of what used to be
The pain will always be there
When I'm ready to set myself free

I have to find a way out
There are more ways then cutting
I have to be strong
And always stay calm

Will i ever pick up the knife again
There is no guarantee
I will try my best to remember the pain
And all the ways i had changed
