Letting Go

by andrea   May 25, 2006

I swore I'd never let you see me cry,
But the tears quickly filled my beautiful brown eyes.

Holding on to anything just barely getting by.
Trying to accept now, that this really is goodbye.

Life is a basket full of chance,
Holding on now, just give me one last dance.

Look deeply into my eyes and catch a glimpse my soul,
For without you there, there is a deep dark hole.

Time flashes by without a glance,
It's over now, there is no second chance.

Letting go isn't an easy thing to do,
Letting go now, for we are no longer two.

Turn away before the tears start to fall.
Don't look back now, because above all,

Our lives they took separate paths, we chose separate roads,
We forever now are bearing separate loads.

But one last thing before you go,
This I want you to know.

I will always have a love for you, a secret place inside my heart.
Where we will live on forever and never be apart.
