Just Another Day

Staying shut up in my room
Trying to block out all the sound
Focusing on my thoughts
My feelings have me bound

I've got my CD player on repeat
Crying, listening to "our song"
The first one you sang to me
While we were on the phone

Crumpled up sheets of paper
Cover my bedroom floor
Trying to let out my emotions
But it only hurts more

Where did we go wrong
We were so happy together
And now I'm falling apart
But to you, it was for the better

I can't erase our past
I can't escape my pain
So I keep on writing
It's what keeps me sane

    This poem expresses the emotions perfectly. I especially liked the stanza:

    because we've all been in that position and have that one song that we can't help but listen to but tears us apart...well in all this ramlbling i'm just saying: great poem

    I love this poem... its so depressing and so full of deep and true emotions... i can definately relate... you kinda lost flow a little but all in all it was good. PS. I thought the ending was great :) -Jen- 5/5
