On the Beach

by Brianna   May 26, 2006

Lying in the sand on the beach,
That's where I want to be.
All civilization is out of reach,
It's just I, myself, and me.
The waves crashing into the deep green water
Echoes in me, calling for me to come out,
But if I touch the water, my dream will shatter,
So the water I must dream without.
Blue skies float right above me,
And all I have to do is reach upward,
To touch its beauty,
But to reach up I cannot afford.
The blue sky is much too delicate for me,
But that's not how I wish it to be.

*this is a sonnet, with three quatrains and two more lines that rhyme...in the quatrains the rhyme scheme is ab ab and so forth*
