Broken Vows

Make the vows as children
turn away from Satan and Hell
pray to keep our faith amen
our sins we must all tell

but if we keep these vows
shouldn't he too
our pleas his sympathy arouse
is the promise of help untrue

cuz he's never helped me
when I'm lost and alone
falling to my knee
his mercy unshown

so if he breaks them
then so can i
so quick to condemn
he doesn't see me die
