Diagnosed

They'd never been so happy
In all their years of living
Then when they were together
Receiving the love the other was giving

4 years of marriage
Nothing could have been better
Not once had they fought
Their love was pure treasure

One day he arrived home late
She didn't know why
But he didn't say a word
He just walked right on by

After hours of silence
She couldn't take it anymore
Did he go with another woman?
Her heart had never felt so sore

But that wasn't it
Her thinking was wrong
He said he would tell her
But she'd have to stay strong

He was diagnosed with cancer
And it would only get worse
The doctors couldn't help him
His happy life was now a curse

Though they fought it long
He died after 2 years
She knew it would happen
But that didn't stop her tears

Now on his gave
She weeps each day
Placing sweet roses
And taking time to pray

She'll get better as time goes on
She's progressing even today
Still, she'll never be the same again
For cancer took 2 lives that day.

* People die from cancer everyday...Maybe one day there will be a cure..

This was so touching. I have dormant cancer cells and it means alot. I love it how you dedicate each poem... seriously... and how it comes straight from your heart and what you feel. This was great, sad, and touching... what more can I say? Great Job.
