Staring

by Mark McCraw II   May 27, 2006

Staring at me
across the table
reading me like a book
or should i say fable?

Your eyes pierce so bad
no way could i not
return the stare
the stare that i got.

It is like they saw
straight through me
perhaps looking at the wall
for what seemed like eternity

Gazing thoughtfully
asking to the skies
what happens next
with those hazel eyes?

Unmoving and unchanged
Staring me down
with no facial expressions
not smile nor frown.

Suddenly out of nowhere
like a white squall
both of those eyes
started to bawl.

I could not understand
why she cried like that
she just ran away
with the swiftness of a cat

I never met those eyes
ever again
she never came back
because of her pain.

Nice job....I must ask though. Who is the she is these two poems? And what might I ask happened to her? Just curious. Anyway...very well written...I like how the poem took a turn at the end....gave the reader something that wasn't suspected. Great job....I look forward to reading more of your work. Much love

p.s.- to answer your question....I keep things inside and express them in poetry...so pretty much everything you read is true.
