Princess Pot-a-dot,
Coved in gowns from her head to her toes
Rolled around in the dirt all day
Grass stains on her knees never stopped her
From finding her dreams
Her little scraps and bruises never stopped her
From falling in love
She fell asleep under the stars every night
Wishing for something much different than a pony
She giggled and danced
With her prince charming in her dreams
Her eyes glistened like diamonds when she smiled
And her imagination swept her away like a magic carpet ride
Her kisses were as soft and delicate like a mothers touch
But
All the dreams, hopes and midnight wishes would never be enough
She stopped reading her life from a fairy tale book
Put away her Barbie dolls and dress up clothes
And pulled out a suit of armor
She walked out ready to face the world
Lacking grass stained knees, magic carpet rides and butterfly kisses
Her breathtaking dreams of far away places
Would be only one of those many things she misses
Tea parties and teddy bears were long forgotten
The only thing to keep her together, a single button
