Evil in the Dark

by Flying Phoenix   May 27, 2006

Tender darkness creeps and crawls
As the spread of evil falls
Soft sharp wind
Whispers so slight
And out from the shadows
Appear the things of the night

Soulless eyes burn fiery red
Lifeless limbs of the waking dead
Together they move
Spreading far and wide
The innocent remain shivering
From the fear outside

Tap, tap, tap, on the window pane
Knock, knock, knock on the door again
"Save me" speaks the faithful
"Help me" utters the doomed
All around, across the ground
The twittering evil loomed

Piercing shriek of desperation
Marks the end of the trapped nation
The creatures venture
On from their prey
Out from the shadows
Where the quivering lay

There continues this sorrowful sight
Attack, murder and rape all around at night
Urban deaths
Now so common here
But never does it cease
The city dwellers live on in fear
